Jerzon Senador a teen-age boy from Calamba Laguna was facing a charge of animal cruelty by violating Act or RA 8485 for hanging his puppy on a clothesline last June 2011 while taking the picture and uploading it to facebook.
He has apologize to the public for what he had done after receiving angry messages, but (PAWS) Philippine Animal and Welfare Society said that it is not enough to wipe out his irresponsible doing. He has to pay the consequences.
RA 8485 states that upon conviction, Senador will be punished by imprisonment of six months to two years or a fine of P1,000 to P5,000 or both. This event should teach a lesson on how to care for animals and the proper use of social media.
